Thank you to all of you who submitted ideas for the upgrade of Costello Reserve. As a result the works will now include:
    - a junior playground and scooter track
    - a picnic setting and additional seating
    - a path through the reserve and
    - tree planting throughout the Reserve.

We also heard how many people enjoy using the cricket pitch and so we will be retaining it in the upgrade. Works will commence in late 2016/early 2017 and residents fronting the reserve will be notified prior to commencement.

Following a tremendous response to the community consultation Council has resolved to redesign the space at 139 Buckley St, Seddon. Overwhelmingly the consultation responses called for the site to be developed as a space for playing trugo. A draft concept plan will be developed incorporating space for trugo and other open space activities. The redesign of the space for these uses will also increase local access to public open space.

For further information regarding the consultation outcomes you can view the report that was considered by Council’s City Special Development Committee here.

In response to the feedback received for the new gateway signage to Footscray Park Council has endorsed the draft concept plan.

The plan received support from the Maribyrnong Heritage Advisory Committee and Heritage Victoria. Ten responses were also received to the Your City Your Voice survey.

The design colours reflect the local heritage of the area and will ensure the signage stands out from the background vegetation. The lettering will also be lit up to further enhance the entrance to the park and assist in providing security to the signage.
