Our City's vibrancy is showcased in our variety of cafe's, restaurants and entertainment destinations. Many venues are licensed premises, which allow the serving of alcohol.

The growth in numbers of licensed premises has benefitted the city’s attractiveness and economy. From the vibrant café culture of Yarraville to the emerging evening economy of Footscray, licensed premises enhance liveability and promote the city as a tourism and entertainment destination.

Maribyrnong City Council has developed a Licensed Premises Policy to guide decisions on planning permits. Click here to see details of the policy and how you can participate.

Thank you to all of you who submitted ideas for the upgrade of Costello Reserve. As a result the works will now include:
    - a junior playground and scooter track
    - a picnic setting and additional seating
    - a path through the reserve and
    - tree planting throughout the Reserve.

We also heard how many people enjoy using the cricket pitch and so we will be retaining it in the upgrade. Works will commence in late 2016/early 2017 and residents fronting the reserve will be notified prior to commencement.
